UshiOi Exchange
A fic and art exchange celebrating the pairing of UshiOi
What is an exchange?
A fic and art exchange is a fandom event where writers and artists sign up to create a piece in exchange for recieving one in return. The participants will be kept anonymous throughout this process and be revealed at the end of the event. The UshiOi Exchange will be centered around the relationship between Ushijima Wakatoshi and Oikawa Tooru, so all works created for the event will be focused on them.
How does it work?
Participants will sign up to create and receive one UshiOi fanwork.
Participants will be able to specify tags and prompts they wish to receive, as well as Do Not Wants.
The AO3 system will then match creators based on tag preferences.
Participants will have three (3) months to create and submit their gift - there will be three (3) check-ins, one soft, two regular, during this time.
Gifts are posted anonymously.
Then all creators are revealed!
You will need an AO3 account to participate. You can request AO3 invites here or reach out to the mods for assistance.

Beta Readers
A beta reader gives the writer feedback and encouragement on their work.
The feedback can be related to grammar, characterization, story structure, or anything writing-related.
Writers are free to ask a friend outside the exchange to beta their work, just make sure they don’t talk about your work with anyone so that you can remain anonymous.
Pinch Servers
A pinch server (typically known as pinch hitters) is someone who can step in to create a work if someone has to drop out under any circumstance.
Pinch servers can be participants who are willing to create more fics or people who didn't sign up for the exchange already.
Pinch servers will be called in ASAP and have at least one week to create their work, no matter how late the other contributor dropped out.
Please note, signing up as a pinch server does NOT obligate you to accept any requests. You are free to turn down requests.
Treats
A treat is a work created for anyone in the exchange in addition to the work you create for your assigned recipient. All requests will be made publicly viewable to allow for treats.
Treats will be posted during the last part of staggered reveals, and you may upload them to the collection through the end of that period.
If you happen to miss sign-ups, you are still welcome to create a treat for someone if a prompt catches your eye!
Rules & Guidelines
This is an UshiOi event, so all works should be centered around this pairing. Sideships can be included, based on your giftee's preferences.
We will communicate through email and Discord (optional, but highly encouraged)!
The timezone all deadlines will be in is EST.
Participants must be 18+ to take part in the exchange.
Participants must be 18+ to gift and receive NSFW fanwork.
The matching process will be done through AO3.
All gifts should be in English.
All gifts must meet the following requirements: fics - 1.5k words minimum; art - full color or lineart with b&w shading, full page size, traditional art ok (must be on unlined paper), backgrounds optional.
Gifts are not allowed to contain the following: pedophilia/extreme underage/shotacon, bestiality (where it relates to animals that cannot consent), and incest.
If you decide to drop out, please contact a mod immediately so that we can reassign a gifter.
Creators must remain anonymous until the reveal date! (But please feel free to share that you're participating in the exchange)
It is allowed and encouraged to reply to comments and feedback during the anonymous period - AO3 will keep your user name hidden until after the reveal.

Fish (she/they) is a proud Oikawa simp and not-so-proud owner of the millions of WIPs sitting in her Google Drive. She thinks UshiOi is one of the best volleyball power couples in all of Haikyuu and a criminally underrated ship. She's super excited to mod this exchange and help create more UshiOi content for the world!
Experience: They're a total noob and have only participated in a handful of fan events so far, but project management is a huge part of their day job. They're lucky to have such lovely co-mods to help!
UshiOi Headcanon: The first time Ushijima smiled in front of Oikawa, Oikawa had a heart attack and nearly proposed on the spot.
Lina (she/her) stumbled into the Haikyuu fandom last year after binge-watching the entire anime and reading the manga in the span of a month. These volleyball boys have bought her back into writing fanfiction after a 15-year hiatus. UshiOi was one of her OTPs from the start, and she is excited to help run an UshiOi Exchange!
Experience: Participated as a writer in 5 different exchanges, one of the mods for KageHina Month, modded other fandom events/forums in the past.
UshiOi Headcanon: I like to imagine that Ushijima was Oikawa’s (reluctant) gay awakening and vice versa.
Ronnie (she/her) often likes to pretend that she has a life beyond anime and Supernatural, but she really doesn’t. UshiOi is one of her favourite OTPs — not on the level of Destiel, of course, but which ship really is? — because they are a spicier and sharper version of KageHina and yes, she will elaborate on that when asked, so proceed at your own risk!
Experience: Currently involved in several Supernatural events and regularly participates in more big bangs and exchanges than she has brain cells.
UshiOi Headcanon: Oikawa’s rivalry with Ushijima might have been brutal but his on-going battle against Ushijima’s many plants for attention is downright vicious.
